The Cedars Sanctuary program centres around the story of a 6 year old boy named Cedar. Cedar is a Nature reporter and loves exploring his backyard. One day he falls down and discovers a beautiful beetle wondering along the ground. He realises that there is whole world of small and hidden things that he has never noticed before. His new Nature Reporter role is to discover all of the small and hidden things at his place.
When Cedars parents take him away to a butterfly house he asks the students to come and look after his place while he's away. He asks them to be Nature Reporters and look after all of the small and hidden things at his place. He is interested in the features that help him to live in the Valley.
