Cedar's Sanctuary is a day program that offers students a unique opportunity to connect with the natural world through experiences that investigate the small and hidden living things at our Currumbin Valley campus.
In their role as Nature Reporters, students will use their senses to investigate the features of living things and some of the habitats where these living things live. As part of their participation in the Cedars Sanctuary experience, students will be invited to immerse themselves in self-directed play, investigation and sensory exploration in our purpose-built nature play spaces.
The students' experiences as Nature Reporters will encourage them to develop their skills and knowledge in the outdoors, foster positive relationships with self, others and place and develop an ethic of care for their natural environment. Their increased connection to livings things through sensory exploration, play and investigation will enhance their scientific knowledge, develop their fine and gross motor skills and tune them into using their senses in a different environment.
